If you’ve ever been to a race, you will realize that there are tons of race fans. It’s more overwhelming than being in a Where’s Waldo painting.
Going to a race is a lot different from watching your middle school student play softball. For modified sports you can make eye contact with the players in between plays and the team can hear you rooting for them.
In racing, once your favorite driver is in the vehicle, they are basically invisible (unless you have a Fanvision scanner at Watkins Glen) and you are invisible to them. Additionally, there is no possible way they can hear you cheering for them. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD AN ENGINE??? HOW ABOUT A RACING ENGINE???????????????
Supporting a racer at the local track is a little bit different. My rookie experience includes sitting on a cooler watching one team adjust and readjust their car in between practices in the pits. In between we would run to the stands to root for the driver. Even though I didn’t really do anything, I felt like I was part of the team and it made me want the driver to find success on the track.
I’ve never felt like such a fan!
The experience reminded me of something bigger than the racetrack. I wrote about it in my journal the next day.
As much as we were rooting for [the driver], how much more are YOU rooting for us?
Thank you, Lord!
You want [the driver] and us to be victorious in LIFE!
Wherever you are in your journey, God is cheering for you. He wants the best for you.
Maybe you are struggling with the temptation to do or not to do something you know is detrimental in the long run. God is cheering for you to do the right thing!
Maybe you feel like you are in the waiting room of life. God is waiting with you and working out plans for you behind the scenes just like the racing team was doing for the driver.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
It can be anything you are struggling with or finding success with. God is rooting for you! He is singing about you!
Even if you feel like, “Uh, hello! I’ve messed up in life.” God is still gently cheering for you to come to Him and find rest.
God is on your team, no matter what’s happening or who you think you are. God is your biggest fan. When I remember that it gives me confidence to stand strong and press on every day.
Be encouraged today, friend! I hope you will discover your biggest fan!
