An Ocean of Distractions Part II: Can you hear me now?

In addition to the plastic pollution that we humans have put in the oceans, sound pollution also creates problems for creatures of the sea. Underwater, you wouldn’t know the level of sounds with which ocean creatures communicate! It’s pretty cool that fish “talk” to each other about things like food and enemies. In Blue Planet II, one scientist, who swims around collecting these sounds, shared the discovery that the noise of electric boat motors causes the fish to not be able to communicate with one another because they are overwhelmed by the sound of the boat. The fish have to make an extra effort (which, being fish, they often are limited) to communicate.

Are you overwhelmed with the noise of the world? It’s going to take some effort to communicate with God over the “noise” just like these fish. God says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalms 46:10 NKJV). He’s there – just seek Him out! Find a quiet place to pray. Put your phone on silent for a few minutes while you meditate on Scripture.

Hear this:

Romans 12:2 (ESV) “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
